How does code access work?

Secure entry with a code

Every user can have their own 6-digit personal code to unlock the door. The Loqed Smart Lock uses a two-button system to enter this code, to ensure fingerprints cannot give any hints for the used code (as is the case with a 10-digit way of entering a code). If multiple unsuccessful codes are entered, the lock will stop allowing codes for a while

How do you enter a PIN?

Entering a code is done per digit. The left button (A) counts up (1, 2, 3, etc). The right button (B) makes the cursor jump to the next position, and on the final position is used to confirm the code.

Examples for entering some codes:

  • 123456: A, B, AA, B, AAA, B, AAAA, B, AAAAA, B, AAAAAA, B
  • 123333: A, B, AA, B, AAA, B, AAA, B, AAA, B, AAA, B
  • 431121: AAAA, B, AAA, B, A, B, A, B, AA, B, A, B

As you can see, entering with a code requires some key presses, though it can be done quite quickly. Therefore we recommend to not use code entry as a daily manner of entering your home.
